It is so much better to reuse empty Jars we buy from the grocery stores than to buy & recycle later . Recycling plants are drowning in materials waiting to be recycled. With not enough space to keep up with demand and not enough companies even wanting the demand for recycled goods. The best route to many products we buy is to repurpose or reuse them. Below are a few ideas on what you can do with those empty jars we accumulate!

Reuse Jars for food storage, dry, refrigerated or even frozen. I reuse mine by using them as cups!

Packing your lunch, easy, free and so convenient. Wont have to worry about the plastic packaging or spending money on Tupperware.

Gifts: There are so many ideas to repurpose those old jars into gifts for the holidays/birthdays. From premade baking materials to stuffing them with candy or even using them as containers to hold gift cards with confetti around it so its a bit of a dig to find the gift jar. A quick google search will show you so many results and ideas!

Vase for Flowers: Again Easy, convenient and free

Storing Bathroom Supplies: Toothbrush/ toothpaste holder to cotton rounds and cue tips. You don’t have to worry about the mold.

Storage for Office Supplies: Pins, pens, pencils & clips. You can store about anything mini in any jar you can think of. Glass is great since its see through, so easy to pick things out, and the lids are a bonus.

Holiday Decorations: I found a beautiful set of green glass jars and filled it with fake eyeballs, fingers and teeth as a Halloween décor around the house. There are so many ideas for any holiday.

Arts & Crafts: Modge pudge and regular paint can create beautiful designs on the glass jars. People actually end up selling them through Esty.

Candles: This is great for a family project with older kids, gifts or even to resell them after you mastered how to make them.

Selling; If you have a dozen or so clean, same size style jars with lids, many people are willing to buy them. From personal experience the buyers were people trying to can with the jars, school projects or just aesthetically pleasing storage for them.

Money Jar: Keep your spare change and toss it in the jar , soon enough you will see the savings accumulate. This is actually a great idea to show little ones how to save money and reuse old jars.

Donation: I accumulate so many I cant keep up sometimes. With giving them away as gifts, to using them as storage and holding flowers. I only have so much space, when this happens I can usually send them off to someone who can reuse them. I also donate to local thrift stores around my area. Customers really appreciate clean jars especially ones with lids.
