Sustainable September Favorites

Here are my favorite eco friendly September products. Especially now that schools are opening up, books and bug repellants are super important! Some items I bought and tested like the washcloths and some I have had for some time that have become my staples.

FYI I am not being paid for any of these reviews, all opinions are my own.

HipHop Panda Bamboo WashCloths: I found these second hand like new and honestly these were a winner. The mini towels are so fluffy, soft and made from sustainable resources such as bamboo. I highly, recommend these for anyone’s face or a great baby shower gift. Even after a few washes the material is not pilling like other washcloths. It does not leave fluff on kiddos faces and the color retains. The cloths are available in several colors and even baby towels. I’m surprised the price is not higher for the quality given.

DYPER baby bamboo diapers: At first I was questionable about compostable diapers. This company states if you deliver the old diapers to them they will compost it through their own program. I don’t think many people do that though, so I’m going to assume a majority of customers are simply going to toss it in the trash. However, they will breakdown 100x faster than any original diaper made from plastic. I went ahead and ordered them, they are awesome. So soft and wearable, I’m especially impressed with the waistband that stretches well, great for babies or toddlers that have a wider waist. The most surprising and best part of the diaper? It almost feels like cotton itself. The part in the middle (pad) that holds the liquid is safe to say thick enough to withstand it. The diaper even has a wetness indicator to let parent know if little one is wet, which is extremely rare in even the mainstream eco friendly diapers.

One Earth by by Eileen Spinelli Book: Amazing book for all ages, I love the illustrations and the message. The book talks about upcycling, recycling, reducing and reusing what we already have all in one. This read is in the form of a rhyme so the storyline does not getting boring. I love to see more authors and illustrators create books on sustainability. This helps open the topic and conversations with your little one or even the older kids about waste and how we can reduce it by doing a few steps.

Chagrin Valley Soap And Salve Don’t Bug Me! Bug-Off Stick: Super easy and the smell is not overwhelming, clean organic ingredients that actually work! I go more into this in the 3 Zero Waste Bug Repellants I recommend. I will leave the link below.

Davids Natural Charcoal Peppermint Toothpaste: This toothpaste left my teeth with an invigorating clean feeling. I was honestly surprised with how well it works given that not many ‘clean’ toothpastes work well for me and my teeth. This toothpaste combines both charcoal to deep clean and peppermint for minty flavor. Within the many choices this brand offers, I absolutely love this one. The toothpaste comes in a metal tube, which can be easily recycled, the package even comes with a squeezing key to get every last bit out!

I hope you guys enjoy these September favorites and am looking forward to October!
